Each year, Forward House engages itself in a variety of "specially-focussed projects".
Compassion Campaign
For 2008, we focus on a 'Campaign of Compassion'. Compassion for ourselves and for others goes a long way toward improving the overall functioning of a community. There is always additional need for compassion, especially as it pertains to those with mental illness and to those families who face difficulties each day in striving for balance in their lives. Compassion makes the attainment of new goals easier to achieve. Compassion makes a better community.
Mental Health in Perspective
This was a feature length movie that our media department, Driftwood Media, undertook, beginning in 2006. With the help of a grant from Eli Lilly, our members and volunteers studied, interviewed, and studied mental health and mental illness from a variety of perspectives. The completion of our film was cause for much celebration on the part of all who took part in the making of this film. We hope that this will become good resource material for the entire community.
Video School
Our latest endeavor, to be undertaken in the fall of 2008, a video course will be offered to interested Forward House clients and members.
