Members provide on-going
encouragement and support for each other in meeting daily challenges. Mutual
respect is the cornerstone of our being. Forward House puts out a
quarterly publication with contributions from members.
Newsletter work is intended to enhance a
feeling of ownership in the program as well as to enlighten community members
about our programs and services. Barter Store In-house barter store for Forward House Community Members. Open: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday. Our
membership is able to earn barter
script to use in the store. Members can ‘purchase’ clothing and food
items, while saving cash for other daily living needs. Arts Art Therapy Offered by our art therapist every Friday evening. Safe, comfortable, available to all members. EDUCATION Certificate Courses: Facilitated by staff members or co-facilitated by graduates. These courses study grieving, conflict resolution, relationships, assertiveness, trust and personal responsibility and food safe. Partners in Education - PIE. This program consists of a volunteer panel of members who address mental health issues from their subjective voices with various community groups, toward individual empowerment and community education.
