Our programs articulate our goals to provide a safe, stimulating social context within which our clients regain wellness,  as well as relevant and constructive information for all members of our home and global communities

  • open hours:  Monday, Tuesday and Friday 9:00 - 7:30 pm
    Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 9
    :00 - 3:00 pm

  • individual counseling, goal setting and support

  • close watch of at-risk clients, and liaison with relevant agencies

  • art therapy... for non-verbal self expression and exploration

  • creative arts: crafts, writing circle, music, drama, and  filmmaking

  • book club... for promotion of literary skills, broadened interest, communication of mutually respected ideas

  • exercise group...for whole person wellness

  • foot care for immune-suppressed clients

  • recreation: community interaction that promotes enjoyment in belonging

  • Human Voice Press...publishes original works of client-partners, including original art work where possible. The Lorna Lane Prize for Writers is included with publication to encourage future creations.

 

 

 

  • community garden... assists in healthy eating and shared responsibility

  • community kitchen..develops nutrition awareness and skills in planning, buying, preparing and storing meals; a shared experience benefitting individuals and our CHoMP frozen meals program for at-home clients

  • peer/youth support services

  • Common Grounds Cafe - coffee house/open mic

  • games

  • language lab: weekly client-facilitated lessons in multilingualism to facilitate development of new neural pathways

  • house meeting: our weekly forum for planning and evaluating activities

  • Families Forward - support and information for carers of people with mental illness and addictions. This program is funded exclusively by Coastal Community Credit Union, Parksville

  • special celebrations: annual Dragonfly Dinner celebrating contributions to mental wellness; annual BBQ and auction, celebration at Thanksgiving/autumnal equinox, Christmas/winter solstice and Easter/Spring equinox

  • Pet Therapy: our silly Old English Sheepdog Freja gives and gets a whole lot of joy, every day.
