Practicum Students

We proudly offer college and university students the opportunity of practicum placements and internships. In the last two years alone, we have hosted 30 students from Vancouver Island University (VIU), University of British Columbia (UBC), Stenberg College, Discovery College, Sprott Shaw College, North Island College, and College of the Rockies.

Students coming to Forward House typically include those studying in the programs such as Social Work, Community Support Worker, Mental Health Worker, Human Services, Psychiatric Nursing, Licensed Practical Nursing, and Non-Profit Management and Leadership.  Our goal is to give students the opportunity to learn more about the practice of Psychosocial Rehabilitation for people who are experiencing mental health and/or addiction challenges.

The clients at Forward House have been so open to sharing their stories with me and my fellow students. We have been able to learn so much from them and for that I am so very grateful!
