We believe that a stable, safe, inclusive community is at the heart of mental wellness. Below are a few ways that we contribute to District 69's mental health and wellness.
Mental health is a topic that we don't talk enough about in society at large. The Forward House team is committed to engaging people in this conversation and offers free, engaging information sessions for local community groups. In the past, we have worked with the Oceanside RCMP, local paramedics, and other community organizations, school groups and non-profits. Contact us to arrange a workshop at your facility today.
First Responders Guide
Over the past number of years, we've worked hard to create a guide to help first responders in a mental health crisis. Written for emergency services, school faculty, religious leaders, workplace administrators and individuals at large, this guide is a comprehensive look at how to identify and support someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis. Forward House Participation in Community
Our Forward House team believes in giving back to the community through participation on various committees and initiatives related to mental health. Our Executive Director is an active member of the Oceanside Task Force on Homelessness (OTFH), the Housing Outreach Support Team (HOST), Oceanside Health and Wellness Network (OHWN), Oceanside Harm Reduction Committee, and the Community Coordination Action Team (CCAT). We are also a proud member of the Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce.
